We are going to mention step by step process.

Step 1

By using your 2 Burner Gas Grill, you must have got the owner’s manual. As porcelain grates are easily broken and can be damaged terribly by scraping and scrubbing, you should follow the manual. Or else you could void your product’s warranty.

Step 2

Rather than using a brass brush, try to use a nylon scrubber brush as the brass brush can scrap the coating of the grill grates. One curved brush will be able to get in between the grates, so choose a curved brush.

Your starting point should be the point closest to you and then slowly move upward. Moving in one direction can help you to decrease the risk of damaging the grates coating.

Point to be remembered: When your grill grates have built-up substance, for example- sauce, wet the brush before starting to clean.

Step 3

Now it’s time to clean the downside of the grill. When the grill is cooled, flip the rack over. Then by using diagonal motion and with a brush, clean off excess food as well as gunk.

Caution! The underside will take a longer time for a cleaning because it has lots of drippings that have accumulated during cooking. Another thing, if your grate has multiple sections, then flip and clean each part individually.

So, keep scrubbing gently until the grate is clean entirely.

Stainless Steel and cast iron Grates cleaning method

Step 1

At first, you have to find the perfect brush. For protecting the surface of the grates, bristles are quite soft. So you can choose a bristle but pick either a roll brush or a straight brush.

Both of these types of brush will clean the grates perfectly, whereas cleaning with roll will be more comfortable.

Step 2

In this method, keep the grill hot, which will soften spare grease and make it effortless to clean the grill grates.

If the grill is not hot, then turn the grill to its high settings. Heat it for 10 to 15 minutes, or when the temperature gauge reaches 500 to 600 °F, turn it off.

Step 3

Now it’s time for scrubbing the grates. Scrub in a back and forth motion along the first bar. And continue the scrubbing until the grease and food parts are removed thoroughly. Now on the rest of the grates, repeat the process.

Step 4

In this step, you have to apply vegetable oil to the grate. For using vegetable oil, deep a piece of cloth or towel into the oil container or take about 1 teaspoon of oil from the container and keep the cloth or rag into it. Then wipe the cloth or towel on each bar and before wiping place that piece of cloth in a pair of tongs. Vegetable Oil will protect your grates from rusting.

Caution! If you apply too much vegetable oil, it can cause a hazardous flare up it dribbles on any blazing food parts below the grates. So, don’t use more than one teaspoon of vegetable oil.
